    Venue Recruitment Solutions are delighted to be retained by Manchester Central to find them their new Head of Venue Sales.

    Their experienced team of professionals lead the industry with unrivalled service standards to help their clients create engaging, memorable experiences at events of all shapes and sizes.

    Your Role

    They're looking for an accomplished, inquisitive, and experienced senior sales professional to join their team in the role of Head of Venue Sales as part of the senior management team at the venue.

    In this senior position you will be key in developing and delivering the sales strategy as well as managing, developing and leading a team of professionals to ensure that Manchester Central continues to build on its reputation as one of the leading conference and exhibition centres in the UK.

    The ideal candidate will be passionate about their clients, the facilities and the city, actively promoting the venue to secure long-term relationships with event organisers to ensure the venue continues to thrive in its unique vibrant city centre location.

    Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Working with the Director of Sales, Marketing & Communications on the creation and monitoring of sales strategies for all venue sectors, ensuring the venue is achieving its wider strategic objectives
  • Developing and leading the venue sales team
  • Being always accessible to provide guidance, support and direction on day-to-day activities, ensuring the work of the sales team is coordinated across sectors to secure optimal diary utilisation and strong yield in line with business objectives
  • Leading the team on business development, in line with Manchester Central's sales strategies to secure long-term commercial certainty
  • Regularly attending events and trade shows, pro-actively representing Manchester Central positively and professionally, and to be recognised as a key individual in the business events industry
  • Having a genuine passion for building and developing long-term relationships with key existing and potential clients
  • Nurturing relationships to ensure a high-quality experience which maximises their event capabilities and opportunities within the venueThe ideal candidate will have:
  • Experience in a senior level sales role where you have managed, developed and led a successful team operating across multiple channels (ideally in a large-scale exhibition, conference or events venue environment, however other industry backgrounds will certainly be considered)
  • Demonstrative experience of creating, delivering, and managing the implementation of sales strategies.
  • A proven track record in delivering effective business development programs.
  • A proven track record of delivering sustained sales growth.
