    Service Manager - Derby, Derbyshire, United Kingdom - Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

    Description

    We are looking for a motivated individual, preferably with previous experience of operational management (but not essential) to join the Older Peoples Division as Service Manager for the Derby City OA CMHT and Discharge Liaison Team.

    The Derby City OA CMHT is based within St Andrews House and the Discharge Liaison Team is located at Kingsway Hospital.

    There is a requirement to be visible at both team bases throughout the working week.

    The CMHT is multi-disciplinary in nature, being made up of Nurses, OTs, Support Workers, Psychology, Medical colleagues and Administrators.

    The Discharge Liaison Team is a small team, unique to the South of the county who undertake specialist placement / nursing assessments.

    The role of Service Manager is to manage the daily functioning of the teams, ensuring that safe and effective care is delivered to the patients within the locality. It is a varied and busy position.

    The successful individual will receive regular supervision, peer support, access to action learning sets and there will be development opportunities.

    Main duties of the job The main duties of the job include:
    • Day-to-day support of the teams.
    • Delivering regular and effective management supervision.
    • Engaging individuals in meaningful appraisals and developing personal development plans.
    • Management of performance within the team, including managing waiting lists if they occur.
    • Working closely with the Clinical Lead to ensure safe and best practice is being delivered.
    • Supporting the well-being needs of team.
    • Implementing change and being part of quality improvement projects.
    • Managing employee relation issues such as sickness and performance management.
    • Working with local system partners to deliver place-based care.

    • Degree/Diploma in Nursing or Occupational Therapy
    • ENB 998/Mentoring in Practice or professional equivalent
    • Current registration with the relevant professional body, eg NMC/HCPC

    • Management/Leadership Qualification
    Experience Essential
    • Recent and relevant experience of working as a Band 6 or equivalent in a mental health community setting
    • Experience of working with people who have severe and enduring needs
    • Experience of supervising junior staff and students
    • Ability to manage complex and sensitive information using well-developed motivational and negotiating skills, representing the nursing service in a variety of different situations
