    Clinical Lead Therapist for Rapid Access Rehabilitation - London, United Kingdom - St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

    An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Rapid Access Rehabilitation Unit (RAAR) at St George's hospital. The post holder will be the clinical lead for therapy management of the RAAR at St George's Hospital Trust. They will report jointly to the Clinical Director for Neurosciences and Chief Therapist / AHP Lead and work closely with other Consultant/Professional Lead/Head of service peers within Therapies as well as Clinical Leads and Consultants across the Neurosciences directorate.

    Main duties of the job The main duties of the post holder will be to provide leadership and clinical management to the therapists who support the neurorehabilitation services in the acute rehabilitation ward setting ensuring a high standard of care and quality outcomes. Key contributions and assurance will be provided to all members of the team to maintain high standards of care and service development.     • Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech & Language Therapy
    • HCPC Registration
    • Working at 'M' level as demonstrated by ongoing CPD including 'M' level accreditation, lecturing on 'M' level courses and research/publications and equivalent experience both clinically and managerially
    • Continued Professional Development including evidence of reflective practice, in service training, any courses attended, and experience gained.
    • Commitment to advanced clinical and professional development
    • Recognised post graduate qualification in (e.g., Post graduate certificate Dip/MSc)
    Desirable
    • Membership of appropriate special interest group e.g., ACPM/ACPIN
    • Recognised post-graduate qualification in management e.g., Certificate, Diploma
    • Evidence of participation in research/audit
    Experience Essential
    • Significant post registration experience in a teaching hospital or equivalent and clinical experience at clinical specialist level within a therapy setting
    • Minimum of 1 year's NHS (or equivalent) experience
    • Expert knowledge and experience of a wide range of approaches to the management of Neurosciences patients demonstrated by advanced clinical reasoning
    • Experience of teaching in a clinical setting
    • Experience of developing services and staff
    • Multidisciplinary team working
    Desirable
    • Previous experience as a Head of Professional Group (or equivalent) in a teaching hospital environment or equivalent
    • Evidence of published data in recognised journals
    • Previous experience of managing a multi-professional group
    • Experience of teaching in an educational setting
    • Leading a multidisciplinary team
    • Actively involved in developing research links with other academic institutions

    • Expert level of relevant clinical knowledge
    • Excellent time management and organisational skills
    • Ability to work across a number of specialities
    • Ability to seek funding where appropriate including bid applications/ income generation
    Desirable
    • Competent IT skills: ability to create and/or format databases and/or spreadsheets using computerized systems
    • Experience of working with CCG and NHS-E commissioners.
    • Experience of working across organisational boundaries
    Professional presentation Essential
    • Physically fit and able to comply with Trust Manual Handling Guidelines
    • Professional demeanour which demonstrates positive behaviours based on Trust values
