    Role Summary and Purpose

    The primary responsibility of this role is to lead and monitor the Ceded Reinsurance operations function. This role will work closely with the Ceded Re Operations Manager, the internal teams as well as brokers and reinsurers to ensure Reinsurance contracts are interpreted, entered onto the XLPro system and serviced in a timely fashion. Additional responsibilities include preparation of financial bookings, Reinsurer statements and queries and premium adjustments.

    You will play an important role in overseeing and leading a team to achieve organizational goals and objectives. You will be responsible for providing guidance, support, and direction to team members, fostering a positive work environment, and driving performance excellence.

    Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Provide clear direction to the Ceded Re Operations team
  • Oversee the day-to-day Ceded Re Operations, ensuring that processes and procedures are followed efficiently and effectively
  • Oversee and review Ceded calculations for facultative, XOL and quota share premium and claims for financial bookings (month end/quarter end/year end)
  • Ensure that all XOL deposits and premium adjustments are rendered in accordance with contractual terms
  • Maintain accrual process for XOL premium adjustments
  • Ensure that all QS periodic statements are rendered in accordance with contractual terms
  • Ensure all ceded claims are reported in line with contractual terms and action any reinsurer queries
  • Assist with preparation of any regulatory reporting including Lloyd's returns, group reporting, terrorism pools
  • Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive efficiency and increase service levels
  • Assist the Ceded Re Operations Manager to review & Improve departmental processes and procedures
  • Assist with enhancing, maintaining and evidencing the current SOX Controls
  • Work independently or with other team members on the continuous improvement projects as directed by the Ceded Re Operations Manager

    Skills / Competencies

  • Strong Excel skills at proficient level are essential for this role
  • Experience using XLPro is desirable
  • Ability to meet financial and contractual reporting deadlines
  • Strong communication with the ability to establish good working relationships both within and outside the organisation
  • Strong comprehension of business processes and systems
  • Ability and confidence to challenge existing procedures & use of systems
  • Strong technical skills
  • Detail orientated
  • Good understanding of Bureau systems and procedures
  • Awareness of Sox Controls

    • Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience in a similar role within the company & Lloyds Insurance market is essential

    • Experience

  • Candidate must have previous experience of leading a team or senior experience within Reinsurance Operations
  • Experience in Reinsurance Operations is essential
