    Description

    The NHS Genomic Medicine Service Alliances (GMSA) have a critical role in facilitating strong collaboration across large geographies, working with patients and the public to build trust in genomics, and providing clinical leadership to enable the multi-professional workforce to use genomics safely, effectively and efficiently.

    The GMSA focus on reducing unwarranted variation, delivering the NHS Long Term Plan and commits to make improvements for our population.

    The CAS GMSA was established in 2020 and includes NHS providers and commissioners in the West Midlands, Wessex and Oxford.

    Under the direction of the CAS GMSA MD the post holder will be an integral member of the GMSA taking responsibility for key areas of delivery within the GMS Business Plan, the Data and Digital Framework , the NHS Long Term Plan and the Genomic Strategy.

    The role is a key within the Central and South Genomics Medicine Service Alliance team and will work very closely with the GLH, and is responsible for the implementation, development and maintenance of systems and processes which will support the delivery of outlined deliverables within the GMSA and GLH's operational delivery plans.

    The post holder will contribute to the strategic direction of the GMSA and the genomic data and digital programme within the region


    Fixed term end date:
    31st March 2026.
    Lead on the delivery of our genomic informatics and data strategy in line with the national framework.
    *Seek to identify appropriate informatics solutions to address the needs of our clinical services and partner organisations and improve data integrity
    *Support improvement in quality and outcomes by maximising bioinformatic opportunities
    *Engage and influence across the broader digital health integration agenda, including Local Health and Care Record Exemplars, personalised care records and pathology networks to enable the integration of data and links with integrated diagnostic reporting.
    *Support procurement of products, equipment, services, systems and facilities.
    *Work in collaboration with the GMS leadership team to support cohesive integration of the data and digital agenda and the alignment of priorities across all strands of the GMSA's programme of work.

    Educated to master's degree level or equivalent, relevant post graduate professional qualification or equivalent experience

    • Formal qualification in Project management (PRINCE 2) to practitioner level or equivalent, or equivalent significant experience of project management in relevant field
    Significant management experience within the NHS or equivalent health related environment

    • Evidence of leading successful informatics / digital projects or services including business case preparation, service initiation / commissioning, contract negotiation, and the development and monitoring of output and outcome measures.
    • Extensive project management experience in large complex organisations, including design, development, implementation and management of change in a multiple stakeholder environment.
    • Track record in consistently delivering performance targets
    • Strong background in data analytics, system integration or system architecture
    • Experience of building effective cross functional working relationships to drive organisational agenda
