    Description
    We need more volunteers across England to help protect and improve local paths.

    There are roles to suit everybody and these can be adapted to suit the time you have to spare, your interests and your level of mobility and fitness.

    People may want to be out inspecting paths, whilst others may prefer to get involved in desk-based research, investigating planning applications and responding to local consultations.

    Many volunteers do a combination of both.


    Tasks may include:
    Identifying any problems or issues that affect the usability of the paths
    Reporting problems or issues with paths to those responsible for their maintenance
    Identifying planning applications that will have an impact on paths and providing written feedback to relevant bodies
    Getting involved in local initiatives to protect the walking environment

    The skills you need
    We will fit your existing skills around the volunteering role
    As you will be receiving and sending reports and giving feedback mainly through email, you will need moderate IT skills and access to a computer
