- Provide help and support to budget holders in analysing budget variances and resolving complex queries.
- Be the main point of contact for budget holders on a day to day basis for transaction related queries.
- Assist the Finance Business Partners and Corporate Finance Planning Manager and other Senior Finance Staff in analysing complex data and the preparation of standard monthly reports.
- Respond to requests from budget holders and the Finance Business Partners for ad-hoc reports and financial information.
- Experience of Financial Management, working in a medium to large multi-disciplined organisation.
- Excellent knowledge of General Ledger systems, preferably Oracle.
- Good knowledge of accounting standards, finance legislation and governance issues.
- Well developed IT skills with experience of working with information technology using Microsoft Office packages (Access, Excel, Word and PowerPoint), or equivalent.
- Well developed analytical skills and the ability to convey complex information and deal with a wide range of ad-hoc queries responding in an easily understood manner.
- Ability to development new reports in response to information requests, utilising a variety of software packages.
- Ability to positively influence, and achieve, outcomes, using persuasion and logic and value the contribution of others.
- Ability to assist the team in the resolution of new queries and problems, to provide business support to managers and budget holders in analysing variances and resolving budget issues.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent qualification / experience.
- Demonstrates commitment to own continued professional development (CPD).

Job Summary
NHSBT is a Special Health Authority in England and Wales, with responsibilities across the United Kingdom for organ donation and transplantation. Our core purpose is to "save and improve patients' lives" through the provision of a safe and reliable supply of blood components, solid organs, stem cells, tissues and related diagnostic services to the NHS, and to the other UK Health Services where directed.
The ability to supply these critical lifesaving products and services is entirely dependent on the loyalty of our donors. NHBST engages with millions of people throughout the country and connects directly with more people on a daily basis than any other single part of the NHS.
The delivery of our organisational goals is dependent on a highly professional and committed team working cross-functionally. The Financial Systems and Support Team plays an important role, providing cost centre and budget manager support to all budget holders and key decision-makers in NHSBT. In this key role, your responsibilities will include providing help and support, analysing budget variances and resolving queries. You will the main point of contact for budget holders on a day to day basis.
This is a full time, permanent role which is hybrid working so you will be working from home most of the time but you will be required to attend Barnsley base once per month.
