The UKs leading manufacturer serving the Plastic & Rubber industries by supplying specialist parts and services for extrusion, injection moulding and polymer processing, trusts in Listgrove to find a new General Manager who will show above average commitment to what we believe in: Exceeding customer's expectations and taking our depth of process knowledge, manufacturing expertise and engineering excellence to the next level.

Working closely with many companies to improve processes and production levels over a wide range of applications, the successful General Manager will possess a fundamental understanding of mechanical engineering principles and will be able to demonstrate their experience in Extrusion or Injection moulding / polymer melt processes.

Key Responsibilities and Required Experience:

You will support engineers in developing functional designs.
You will investigate new technologies for suitability to enhance existing specifications.
You will undertake on-site measuring using Micrometers, Vernier Calipers, Electronic Bore Measurement devices etc.
You have a proven track record of producing excellent business plans for sustainable, profitable growth which have proven themselves when implemented and you have very good implementation skills.
You will prepare financial budgets in accordance with the defined objectives and targets and monitor and control, to ensure that the objectives and targets are achieved.
You will prepare regular business reports for the Board of Directors including a monthly P&L, and updates regarding objectives and targets.
As the General Manager you will lead the sales team, but you will also act as a salesperson yourself, which requires excellent sales skills.
You will drive the annual price increase process, to optimize the return for the business to offset economic headwinds.
As General Manager you need extensive knowledge of marketing strategies and the ability to identify new business leads to develop marketing strategies.

Education and Professional Career:

Post graduate degree level qualification and / or experience within mechanical engineering equipment sales, marketing, finance, design and production environment.
You held previously a senior leadership and business management position(s) within an engineering manufacturing environment, ideally in the plastics and rubber industry.

Excellent skills for effective and efficient communication including verbal and written.
You are able to build excellent relationships with customers and partners through to senior management level.
High level of motivation.
Strategic thinking and business acumen.
First-rate skills in understanding, creating and analyzing financial reports and budgets.

You are able to work within tight schedules and manage several tasks at the same time.
