We are looking for an Engagement Officer join our team. Your base will be Summerlee Museum of Scottish Industrial Life, Coatbridge but you will work with the communities of Airdrie to help shape an exciting heritage project.
Your task will be to help make the case for a large-scale project to improve the built heritage and increase knowledge of the historic importance of Airdrie.
To be successful in the post, you should enjoy working with people, have good interpersonal and communication skills, be self-motivated and have a flexible approach to work practices. You will use digital and traditional media to communicate the Rediscovering Airdrie project to a wide audience and support the work of the project team through consultation,
Your previous work experience of developing community groups, working with hard-to-reach groups, schools, delivering talks and workshops along with a broad knowledge of history, and a genuine interest in listening to the community and making sure their voices are heard will add to your success in this post.
Occasional evening and weekend working.
The successful candidate will require a satisfactory Disclosure Scotland check.
Post is temporary for six months.
This post is funded by Heritage Fund.
Interviews are likely to take place at Summerlee Museum of Scottish Industrial Life on three weeks after the closing date .
