- Team Management:
- Lead and supervise the courier, mail, art, and freight operations at the Heathrow warehouse.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and offer constructive feedback.
- Develop training programs to enhance team skills and knowledge.
- Route Optimization:
- Coordinate with the driver controller and driving team daily.
- Collaborate with the planning team to improve route efficiency.
- Monitor and adjust routes to accommodate changes in demand or unforeseen events.
- Implement technological solutions for enhanced route planning and tracking.
- Driver Management:
- Assist the driver controller in identifying problematic routes/drivers.
- Manage driver schedules to ensure operational efficiency in processing shipments.
- Resolve issues and conflicts promptly and effectively.
- Quality Control:
- Establish and uphold quality control measures for shipments.
- Monitor and enforce adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Introduce continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workflows, output rates, and minimize processing errors.
- Warehouse:
- Supervise inventory levels and warehouse organization.
- Maintain a secure work environment and ensure compliance with Health and Safety procedures in the warehouse.
- Customer Service:
- Collaborate with the customer service team to address client inquiries and concerns.
- Liaise daily with both teams to promptly resolve issues and maintain positive client relationships.
- Ensure efficient management of packing runs and art shipments as per payment schedules.
- Ensure daily processing and dispatch of remail according to schedule.
- Cost Management:
- Monitor and control operational costs within budgetary limits.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement efficiency measures.
- Conduct service level and price negotiations with courier and freight suppliers.
- Compliance and Regulation:
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and industry standards.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and implement necessary adjustments.
- Collaborate with legal and regulatory affairs to mitigate risks.
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Generate and analyze operational reports to monitor key performance indicators (delivery/transit times, operational errors, misdeliveries, etc.).
- Provide regular updates on operational performance to senior management.
- Utilize data-driven insights for informed decision-making.
- Report to the Board of Directors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork aptitude.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Minimum education to A level or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or related field preferred but not mandatory.
- Demonstrated experience in logistics and operations management.
- Certified knowledge of import and export customs procedures and compliance.
- Experience in liaison with relevant HMRC departments.
- Certified knowledge of Dangerous Goods by Air, Sea, and Road.
- Forklift license.
