- Developing personal or corporate tax efficient strategies
- Providing support to clients with complex UK and International tax issues
- Corporate- Dealing with basic tax planning, cross-border tax structuring and deal tax structuring activities, restructuring, R&D, EIS, capital allowances)
- Personal- Supporting the Head of Tax regarding tax projects for individuals (eg, dividend planning, CGT, trusts, Non domicile, VCT, IHT)
- Overseeing a team of junior tax staff
- Ensuring that the quality of personal tax & corporate tax work is done to agreed cost and timescales
- Working with the Tax Partners to grow and develop the firm, and increase advisory services to clients.
- Engaging with local referrers and other external third-parties regarding business development.
- Confidently explaining tax issues and options to clients in a non-technical manner, and presenting to small groups in client workshops or internal training courses.
- CTA/ ACA qualified (or equivalent)
- Experience of working in tax and a demonstrable passion for working with, clients in the public and third sector.
- Experience of a client or customer facing role.
- Proven experience in client handling and managing a busy portfolio.
- Interest in building client relationships in order to generate fee-paying work.
- Experience of operating, or an exhibited ability to operate, at a Tax Manager or Associate Director level within a busy professional practice.
