Investor Services
AVPs/VPs within Fund Management are assigned to one or more investment funds and are responsible for supporting all aspects of the funds' operations including quarterly valuations, investment funding and execution, ongoing deal support, cash management and credit facility compliance, investor reporting, compliance, tax and legal matters (including structuring), as well as internal financial planning and analysis for the business units.
Fund Management also supports the fundraising process (successor fund raises, new fund products, and external co-investments) when applicable, along with any other matters that arise in the management and operations of the funds.
This role is unique given Carlyle's August 2022 acquisition of Abingworth, which presents a distinct opportunity to work on an integration of two investment firms.
The AVP/VP will help manage and develop the existing Abingworth Finance team on an ongoing basis, while actively collaborating with a broader Fund Management team and liaising with Carlyle's Corporate Accounting and Partnership Accounting teams and will also be responsible for supervising the third-party administrator with respect to fund and investor reporting.

Collaborate with various stakeholders to gather financial information, analyze performance metrics, and prepare insightful reports for internal and external stakeholders
Work closely with the CFO to formulate financial strategies, contribute to budgeting and forecasting, and support decision-making processes
Lead the closings of investment purchases, follow-on fundings, distributions, and dispositions, in coordination with the deal team. Liaise with legal counsel and Tax to summarize and communicate complex deal fundings (e.g. multiple entity bank accounts, various currencies, and FX trades/hedges) across multiple departments (tax, accounting, payment operations). Lead coordination and issue resolution across deal team, tax, payment operations, accounting, and other internal Abingworth / Carlyle functions to ensure successful transaction execution
Manage the documentation of investment authorization, allocation, funds flow, certification, deal funding, etc. to ensure compliance with policies (documentation shared with accounting, auditors, and tax preparers)
provide feedback to investment teams to ensure alignment with fund and investment requirements, including side letter provisions
Ensure availability of capital to meet all funding requirements for new investments as well as multiple follow-on funding requirements; propose timing/quantum of capital calls to Fund Heads that balance capital requirements and maximizing utilization of the fund credit facility
Coordinate with Partnership Accounting and Investment/Fund Tax to distribute realized investment proceeds in a timely manner to maximize IRR
Support the Investment Committee process and portfolio review process.
Full ownership of the preparation, review and analysis of fund portfolio valuations to ensure compliance with Carlyle policy; coordinate with investment teams and CFO to determine the fair value for investments on a quarterly basis and ensure relevant and adequate documentation
Lead the development of supplemental schedules and analysis, as needed to support senior management's review.
Monitor ongoing compliance with Fund Limited Partnership Agreements, investor side letters, and other regulatory requirements
Oversee the review of capital call calculations and allocations prepared by Partnership Accounting
Provide input to Partnership Accounting and Third Party Administrators as to the applicable treatment of distribution proceeds received from a liquidity event and review the distribution waterfall calculations
Oversee the preparation and review Investor Advisory Committee presentations for periodic and ad-hoc meetings
Mentor and guide junior finance team members, fostering professional development and a high-performance culture.
Lead end to end management group and fund reporting processes for venture capital / private equity business, maintaining accuracy and compliance
Stay abreast of regulatory changes and industry standards, ensuring adherence to reporting requirements.
Drive timeline and quality review for reporting to investors (presentation materials, quarterly LP reports and audited accounts) with minimal supervision
Drive timeline and review of fund/segment reporting to Corporate Accounting, including compilation and review of exit forecasts in consultation with the investment professionals
Support CFO in preparing presentations and ad hoc financial analysis, including profitability or scenario modeling
Coordinate preparation and review of key performance metrics and detailed data requests on a quarterly and ad hoc basis
Perform quarterly budget-to-actual variance analysis
Support analysis and insights of portfolio or platform data, including scenario planning and IRR maximisation
Manage external audit timeline and deliverables related to valuations, transactions, and legal matters.
Support fundraising (including new products and external co-investments): 15%
~ Coordinate with Investor Relations Management team, External Placement Agent and oversee Fund Management aspects of fundraising and investor outreach (ad-hoc analysis as requested by Fund CFO or Fund Heads, potential investor DDQs, operational due diligence meetings, flipbooks, PPM, etc.)
