    We are currently seeking a Sous Chef to help bring the local neighborhood tale to life and inspire a vibrant atmosphere at our hotel.

    WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

    We are searching for someone who views dining as an experience, an imaginative individual who can both surprise and delight guests while effectively leading and developing the team to greatness.

    The ideal candidate will possess a professional and amiable demeanor, maintain composure under pressure, demonstrate strong organizational skills, and exhibit a hands-on approach. Attention to detail, prioritizing guest and team satisfaction, and a genuine enthusiasm for exceptional service and team development are crucial.

    A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SOUS CHEF AT HOTEL INDIGO CARDIFF

    What you'll be doing...

    As a Sous Chef, you'll collaborate with the Head Chef to oversee all kitchen operations, prepare our exciting new menu, and ensure a seamless culinary experience for our guests. Your responsibilities include maintaining quality standards, kitchen upkeep, and inventory management to guarantee efficient kitchen operations.

    • Help the head chef manage daily kitchen tasks, organize work assignments, and ensure adequate staffing levels
    • Foster team growth and enhance performance through coaching and feedback
    • Cultivate a positive team environment to promote collaboration across departments
    • Encourage teamwork and superior service through regular communication and coordination with other hotel departments. Stay in touch with all department heads to address kitchen needs promptly
    • Assist in scheduling, completing rotas, conducting stocktakes, and managing orders
    • Contribute novel menu ideas and aid in their development with the Head Chef
