    The post holder will support the Directorate Management Team(s) (DMT) deliver all aspects of the Directorate(s) financial management.

    The post holder will manage a team of accountants to provide day to day support in all aspects of the Directorate(s) financial performance and business partnering whilst maintaining an excellent team ethic.

    As a senior member of the organisation the post holder is expected to display ambition, providing inspirational, authentic and inclusive leadership, with a passion for delivering outstanding services for our residents, service users, patients and other stakeholders.

    The post holder will be a senior member of the Financial Management and DMTs, demonstrating expert accounting and business knowledge, analytical support and clear presentation of highly complex, contentious or sensitive financial and business information to clinical and non-clinical colleagues across a range of financial and business management responsibilities.

    The post holder will constructively and positively challenge all aspects of financial and business performance and financial management processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness whilst enabling change and improvement.

    Through a team of accountants the post holder is required to manage the delivery of accurate and timely monthly performance reports for agreement with the DMT for presentation at DMT Board meetings and to feed into the Trust position for internal and external corporate reporting and statutory returns.

    There will be a requirement to support the reported performance with an analytical review and to influence actions based upon findings.

    This will include supporting the planning and monitoring of mitigating actions.

    Expert specialist knowledge of reporting, income maximisation, patient level information costing, service line reporting and revenue consequences of capital will be required to assist in the delivery of high quality comprehensive reports.

    The post holder must have a recognised CCAB or equivalent qualification, and have significant experience in senior roles within finance and be fully committed to continuous professional development.

    Expert knowledge gained through further postqualification specialist training or experience.

    Evidence of maintaining and developing technical accounting expertise and of staying up to date with current accounting rules since qualification.

    Experience in a complex NHS or private sector organisation managing part of the Finance function
    Experience of using complex financial models for assessing risk and informing decision-making
    Operational and strategic financial planning, budgeting and service costing
    Experience of presenting complex financial information to non-finance managers and directors
    Experience of setting objectives, carrying out staff appraisals, identifying training needs, mentoring and coaching staff.

    We provide a wide range of community health and mental health inpatient services to children, young people, adults of working age, and older adults in The City of London, Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Bedfordshire and Luton.

    We provide services in urban and rural settings, sometimes in our inpatient units, but mostly in the community close to where people live.
