Senior Field Technician, SOCOTEC, A417 Gloucester

To support our ambitious growth plans, we have a great opportunity to join our Infrastructure division. SOCOTEC is the UK's largest independent construction materials testing division, delivering seven million tests a year to more than 5,000 clients either in our laboratories or on-site. SOCOTEC offers the widest range of testing, inspection and certification services in the UK. Our sampling and testing methods are based upon current British and European standards and are accredited by UKAS.

We're looking for a Field Technician to undertake the physical testing of concrete, soils, aggregates and bituminous mixtures both at client sites and within our laboratories. The role involves significant physical activity including manual handling of samples up to 20kgs, as well as working outdoors on construction sites in all weathers. The role will also involve:-

Sampling and testing construction materials in line with UKAS accreditation

Experience in multiple testing methods

Completion of test sheets, including all calculations

Liaison with Laboratory and Section Manager on work schedules

Developing of Technicians

Previous experience of performing a wide range of field and laboratory tests in line with UKAS accreditation

Reporting on site test results

CSCS card

Self motivated and able to organise their own workloads
