    Due to significant growth in demand for our corporate GHG accounting, reporting and emissions reduction services, there is an opportunity for an enthusiastic, experienced individual to join our climate change consultancy team,, focussing on the heavy industry sector.

    The successful candidate will join our multidisciplinary team, supporting ERM's client organisations on a range of challenges related to energy and climate change, including, but not limited to:
    Accounting of greenhouse gas emissions (scopes 1, 2 and 3 emissions), including developing greenhouse gas inventories for heavy industry and hard to abate sectors aligned with industry best practice
    Reporting climate performance in annual sustainability reports and CDP disclosures.
    Embedding climate change within risk management frameworks and strategy planning and implementation
    Physical climate change and low carbon transition risk assessments, including alignment to the TCFD recommendations
    Helping engage and build governance capacity from the board, through executive management teams down to the 'shop floor'.

    Our role as consultant is to help our clients to achieve their sustainable development objectives, and to manage their related business risks and opportunities effectively.

    The team interacts continually with ERM's other practice areas, and in particular the successful candidate will work closely with the rest of the climate change team, with the opportunity to assist clients in areas such as: sustainability strategy; EHS performance management and assurance; and risk management, to deliver value-added services to ERM's international client base.

    As a Net Zero Managing Consultant at ERM, you will play a pivotal role in assisting organisations in their journey towards achieving net-zero emissions.

    You will provide strategic guidance, technical expertise and innovative solutions to help clients reduce their emissions and contribute to a more sustainable future.

    Projects typically extend across Net Zero strategy, GHG inventories and decarbonisation strategies, and for the right individual this offers the chance to act as a go-to advisor to ERM's key clients.

    We will offer the opportunity to act as a project manager, acting as the focal point for our work with clients, particularly across corporate sectors.

    Working in collaboration with a Partner in Charge, you would act as the day-to-day contact and coordinator of our work, leading teams and delivering proposals and project deliverables to clients.

    Leading the analysis of carbon emissions from multiple perspectives such as understanding carbon emissions impact, target setting (SBTI), using/applying various digital platforms, developing emissions reduction roadmap, preparing Net Zero strategies, and helping the client implementing these within their organisation.

    Supporting and ensuring that the outputs enable our clients to meet assessment and disclosure needs;

    Overseeing the preparation of reports, workshop materials, presentations, and technical summaries, including managing project delivery of more junior members of staff; Leading and supporting partners and teams to develop proposals, including for clients across a wide range of sectors.

    Relevant technical degree or 5+ years' experience in environmental consulting / climate change / related industry position.
    MACC analysis / economic analysis of GHG/energy reductions.
    Links between energy and climate change.

    Proficiency in using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

    Strong Excel capabilities – advanced functionality and the ability to build complex tools, with the willingness and ability to further upskill.

    Experience of data manipulation and visualisation tools in addition to Excel would be an advantage.
    Experience of managing large projects and programmes.
    Efficient and effective project planning (i.e. managing work and deliverables; Ability to manage/deliver multiple projects/tasks in parallel with different requirements and timelines.
    Business development/proposal writing experience.
    Excellent technical writing skills and ability to synthesise reports to a very high standard.
    good client communication skills, i.e. confident being in meetings without more senior consultants.
    Collaborates internally to bring our services to existing clients.
