    Business Development Representative - (Retail) SaaS Start-up

    To £70k + OTE

    Remote/Occasional Travel to London

    *To be considered for this role, you must have experience of selling a SaaS/Software solution into the enterprise retail marketplace, securing meetings/demos*

    This cutting-edge ML tech company is seeking a driven and entrepreneurial individual to join their newly formed commercial department.

    As the very first Business Development Representative (BDR), it's all to play for You will be tasked with initiating and nurturing relationships within the retail sector, sourcing and identifying your own leads via industry press, market insight, existing vendor partners as well as other creative avenues.

    Reporting directly to the VP of Sales, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving early-stage pipeline growth and securing new business opportunities. The core focus of your role is to identify and secure appointments with new enterprise prospects across the retail ecosystem, for the Senior AE to attend.

    Core KPIs include ensuring that the point of contact for each meeting is relevant/the right decision maker and that the meetings booked actually go ahead

    Your Responsibilities:

    • Conduct strategic research and prospecting across various channels.
    • Engage potential clients through innovative outreach methods.
    • Penetrate, profile, and qualify leads, scheduling appointments with key decision-makers.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver messaging and product feedback.
    • Exceed quota expectations in a fast-paced B2B environment.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • 2+ years of outbound sales experience, prospecting new leads/customers from cold across the retail landscape
    • Experience of successfully scheduling demos/sales meetings with target clients
    • Success at working to and exceeding KPI's/targets
    • Previous experience prospecting enterprise clients across the retail landscape - highly desirable
    • Ideally you have worked for a start-up previously/worked in a small team
    • Proficiency with Pipedrive or similar CRM software.
    • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and self-sufficiency.
    • Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Familiarity with AI/ML and RetailTech products.
