    Role responsibilities

    To lead the day-to-day relationship between the Engineering team and internal Operation/Production Teams, ensuring that professional support is provided in a timely manner to improve fleet maintenance processes and successfully integrate projects and improvements.

    Deliver support activities in line with relevant processes and experience to enable production teams to deliver the best possible fleet for TfW, including but not limited to :


    • Process and documentation clarification and improvement.

    • Condition-based maintenance system monitoring, review and action.

    • Support of Engineering ICT systems and diagnostic hardware.

    • System and maintenance expertise.

    • Support inspections and audits.

    Who we're looking for


    • Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship

    • Experience of working as a technician in rolling stock maintenance or other relevant maintenance environment.

    • Excellent understanding of working to standards and procedures

    • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, with an ability to work with others and build effective professional relationships.

    • Good knowledge of ICT systems including specialised engineering diagnostic and management systems.

    Welsh Language Skills

    The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.

    Transport for Wales supports and promotes the use of the Welsh Language by employees and will encourage them to develop, improve and maintain their Welsh Language skills. We fully support our people who want to improve their Welsh language skills, and personal development for Welsh Language skills are offered in a variety of ways such as online learning, classroom courses and funding attendance at local community courses.
