    At Honda we embrace inclusion in our various policies, so whilst our contracts state that the hours are as required to fulfil the role with a minimum of 35 hours per week, we offer flexibility for when you work. The regular office hours are 08:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday with a half hour lunch break & 08:00 – 13:00 on a Friday. However, we offer flexibility of when you work with our daily flex-time start of between 07:00 and 11:00 providing that there is no business requirement.

    Whilst there is no contractual right to work from home, the flexibility we offer is that you can request to work from home for a maximum of 50% of the working days in any one month, again providing there is no business requirement to attend the office.

    Role:

    Honda (UK) Power Equipment requires an individual who can effectively manage and grow our Boat Builder accounts across the UK. The principal responsibility for this role is to achieve our Power Equipment commercial objectives through effective management, troubleshooting and focus on our Boat Builder accounts.

    This is a highly specialised marine industry role requiring strong business development and sales skills. Having relevant experience with a Marine bias would be a significant advantage for this role.

    The role will involve extensive travel across the UK, including Northern Ireland with frequent overnight stays.

    Main Responsibilities:

  • To ensure achievement of monthly, quarterly and annual marine sales targets, specifically focused on transom business with Boat Builders and the achievement of mid and high horsepower sales.
  • To be the conduit between internal teams and boat builders to guarantee Honda is their preferred supplier.
  • Work with our European teams, parts, technical and warranty to ensure we can offer first class, end to end service to Boat Builders.
  • Achieve volume and profitability goals through specific plans agreed with each account. Plan and implement countermeasures when there is a risk to achieving targets.
  • Accurately forecasting monthly sales by area and by product level.
  • Manage, coach and train key Boat Builder staff to ensure Honda USPs are understood and promoted along with a Powered by Honda philosophy.
  • Develop new Boat Builder accounts in order to ensure sales growth.
  • Work closely with Boat Builders to fully understand their rigging requirements, making the order process as simple as possible.
  • Manage time autonomously in order to allow adequate time for admin, diary updating and to ensure Boat Builders are visited within a reasonable frequency.
  • Liaise, plan and assist with local promotions and shows to gain best advantage for the Boat Builders within the area.
  • Provide the primary personal link between the dealer network and HME-UK creating a proactive working environment and partnership.
  • Work closely with the network development team in order that we always strive to partner new Boat Builder businesses.

  • Qualifications, skills and experience:
    Required

  • Ambitious with a high level of drive to continual achievement of targets. The successful candidate will also be determined, resilient and strongly self-motivated whilst possessing well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and developing sales growth.
  • Capability to challenge and negotiate at a Managing Director/business owner level.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Well organised and able to work to deadlines and targets without close supervision.
  • Confident sales person with ability to 'close' sales.
  • Full driving licence essential.

  • A good understanding of the marine industry would be a considerable advantage.
