- Carry out review, negotiation and drafting of contracts and legal agreements for business projects
- Advise on arising issues, insured risks and commercial queries, under supervision where required
- Deliver training programmes to the business on legal and contractual risks and issues
- Update precedents and templates, whilst contributing to processes and improved ways of working
- Work closely with the company's insurance brokers and occasionally with external counsel on any arising issues
- Technical legal knowledge and commercial understanding of the construction industry
- Working knowledge of industry forms of contract (NEC, JCT, FIDIC)
- Familiarity with concepts around construction project insurance and management of claims
- Good negotiation skills
- A qualified lawyer in England & Wales, or any relevant jurisdiction
- Able to communicate complex and technical legal concepts to a non-technical audience
- Interpersonal and communication skills to manage internal stakeholder groups and external client relationships.
- Willing to learn about and contribute to more complex legal matters
