    Job summary

    We have a dedicated and friendly team of nurses/doctors who have been providing elective and emergency Gynaecology, Gynae oncology, Breast care for the Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust.

    On commencement of the post you will be provided a supernumerary orientation programme between 4 to 6 weeks (depending on progression)

    We work currently work across 2 wards - D25/D21, emergency and elective gynae patients

    D bedded area and x4 trollies for elective surgery including day cases and bigger surgeries, including oncology, general gynae and breast

    D21 - 6 bedded area for emergency admissions via A+E, EGAU and clinics

    Rotation of all areas of Gynaecology, Gynae oncology and Breast between the elective, emergency.

    Main duties of the job

    As a Band 5 Nurse your role will include: -

    To take charge of the inpatient service on a daily basis

    Accompanying the Doctors on their ward rounds

    Safe discharging of patients back into the community

    Liaising with the on-call team and consultant
