    Description

    In this pivotal role you will serve as the right hand to the Global Head of Data and be critical in driving strategic initiatives, operational efficiency, and the execution of key projects within the department.

    The ideal candidate will have a strong background in strategic planning, project management, and data management practices, coupled with excellent leadership and communication skills.

    This role is designed for a highly organized, strategic thinker who can navigate the complexities of a large data department and facilitate alignment with the organization's broader strategic goals.

    The role will have a significant impact on Columbia Threadneedle Investments in the way we manage data and information as a highly valued enterprise asset thus enabling optimal efficiency, quality and agility—for the benefit of our clients as well as internal sales, client management and marketing teams.

    You will help lead a group of data focused employees located primarily in Minneapolis, London, and Noida (India) on delivery of data while continuously driving the firm toward more efficient and risk-controlled data flows and use of authoritative sources.

    Assist the Global Head of Data in developing and implementing strategic plans.


    Operational Efficiency:

    Oversee operational aspects of the Data Department, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance productivity and efficiency.


    Project Management and Coordination:
    Coordinate and oversee key projects and initiatives within the department, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with strategic goals.

    Stakeholder Communication:
    Act as a liaison between the Data Department and other departments, executive leadership, and external partners. Ensure clear communication and alignment on data-related initiatives.

    Leadership and Team Development:
    Assist in leading the department, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence


    Policy and Procedure Development:

    Collaborate with department leaders to develop, implement, and refine policies and procedures that support the data governance framework and data management practices.


    Budget and Resource Management:
    Assist with budget preparation and management. Ensure optimal allocation of resources for projects and operational needs.

    Meeting and Event Coordination:
    Organize and facilitate departmental meetings, retreats, and other events. Ability to influence change and outcomes with senior leaders outside reporting lines/department.

    Experience with maintaining internal client relationships to drive, through collaboration, business and data driven outcomes towards increased flow and reduced costs in the operating model.

    Leader who began career in technical role and migrated to business/data leadership position.
