HSE / Production manager - Kingston upon Thames, Greater London, United Kingdom - RT Group - Remote Trauma
Description
Job Description RT Group is an established H&S provider to the TV industry, and we are expanding and are looking for passionate H&S/TV industry professionals to join us on our journey.
If you were asked how to advise on the safety and legal compliance of an actor jumping out of a window whilst the building is on fire, could you do it?Are you a creative problem solver? Are you passionate about being a part of the safety culture surrounding film & TV production? As an existing H&S professional, perhaps already established within production safety or perhaps looking for a sector change, we're looking for safety professionals who are keen to bring proven experience and knowledge of H&S and good safety culture fostering into this exciting industry.
Building on our established 2 decades of production safety in medical and high-risk safety support largely for unscripted formats, we are expanding our scope into general H&S support for scripted productions of all kinds.
With a senior leadership team within this department who are very experienced and well-known scripted safety managers, we now need to build our scripted safety team.
As such, we want to be the go-to name for ALL genres of TV & film production safety in the U.K.
and overseas, across feature films, HETV, scripted, unscripted, and commercials, and that means we need likeminded people who are passionate about what we do within this exciting industry.
With formal career paths in place for our staff at all levels to be able to see & to plan how they can grow and develop professionally, and with training, support, mentoring, and an inclusive culture, we have lots to offer the right people who match our values and approach.
We aren't a "safety-by-checklist" tickbox service provider – we are here to work with all manner of production clients, to help achieve all manner of on-screen and off-screen activities.
We work with clients to solve the puzzles of how the creative ideas of a script can become a reality whilst maintaining all areas of health, safety, and wellbeing.
Ensure that rigorous risk assessment and incident management systems are in place and followed across the business and customer organisation.
Creation and utilisation of templates to create bespoke safety documentation as per the client's needs.Attend client sites for reviews, production recces, or to provide on-site support for filming as per the client's needs.
Take point on larger client productions as the safety lead, and where necessary oversee any advisors who have been put onto that production to run "on the ground" day-to-day on that production for you.
Day-to-day workload management of advisors within the PSS department.Managing the Safety Team mailbox on behalf of the deputies, pitching in with answering queries when the workload demands.
Assisting with customer enquiries and reviewing advisor Risk Assessments (RAs) as suitable & sufficient. Writing and creation of RAs, policies, and other safety documentation as required by clients.Maintaining good customer relationships and planning with our customers upcoming requirements for new Productions and existing.
Assisting our customers with our Risk Assessment system, ORA (Online Risk Assessment). Actively participate in team meetings and planning, undertaking any mandatory training.
Being a part of our PSS team, that sits within the larger safety services department, you will have regular 1-2-1 meetings with your line manager.
Proven Track record within Health and Safety at the advisor or consulting level, for a minimum of 4 years.
TV & film production industry is desirable, but not essential.Minimum of NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent level 3 safety qualification.
Being prepared to commence studying for, or studying already underway for, NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, or equivalent level 6 safety qualification is also required.
Ongoing Membership with a recognised safety professional body such as IOSH or IIRSM.Time management and organisational skill are essential for this role, as turnaround times for incoming client work can be swift.
This role will involve regular communication with personnel within Production for logistic purposes, so people and customer relationship skills essential.
Ability to problem-solve and "solve the puzzle" of often unique client needs whilst adhering to safety law to the highest standard reasonably practicable.
If you are interested in the high-risk safety, security, and medical support services that RT Group provide, please see our Specialist Risk Management (SRM) Safety Advisor role also active currently.
Salary & Benefits Package£42,500 to £50,000 per annum (based on experience & training needs) plus benefits, including a company profit share bonus scheme, EAP, competitive annual leave allowance, and offers via Bright HR.
