    Description

    We are seeking a Head of Group Reporting and Control for a leading global travel organisation.

    This is a fixed-term position expected to last 6-12 months, with a hybrid working arrangement based in the North West three days a week and two days remotely.

    In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the standards of financial control, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Your key focus will be on driving efficiencies in reporting and controls, delivering high-quality service to stakeholders, and providing strategic challenge and partnership to the Finance management team to ensure consistency and appropriateness of financial controls.

    Your expertise will be pivotal in interpreting relevant accounting standards and their application to our clients business, serving as the primary contact for all financial audits and ensuring timely completion by the Finance team.

    As the Head of Reporting and Control, you will serve as the main liaison for all interactions with regulatory bodies such as CAA/ABTA, managing reporting filings and negotiations on license renewals. Please note: the successful candidate does not need to have a travel background but be happy to work on licence renewals.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with the CFO and Finance Directors to facilitate the transition to a new operating structure.
    • Ensure adherence to Group Financial Reporting manual and policies regarding financial control.
    • Develop and maintain UK Finance policies and procedures manual.
    • Oversee the completion of local UK and internal audits.
    • Manage the preparation of statutory accounts for all UK entities.
    • Engage with external bodies including bankers, consultants, HMRC, CAA, ABTA, and ATOL.
    • Provide reporting to regulatory bodies such as CAA/ATOL related to licensable turnover and renewal requests.
    • Supervise Regulatory and Financial Control Analysts, Group Treasury Manager, and Group Reporting Manager.

    Requirements:

    • ACA qualified
    • Will consider CIMA with a solid history working with Stat reporting and Audits.
    • Substantial post-qualification experience with leadership responsibilities.
    • Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
    • Proficiency in influencing within a matrix organization.
    • Up-to-date knowledge of IFRS.
    • Strong focus on controls, processes, and attention to detail.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Familiarity with Sage X3/TM1 (desirable).
    • Experience in Retail, Leisure, or Travel industries (desirable).
