    Description
    IMPORTANT: Please note, to be considered for this role, you must reside in the UK and have a permanent right to work in the UK as you will be hired on a full-time, PAYE basis. My client is unable to offer visa sponsorships.
    About the company:My client is a dynamic start-up, building a software platform that will revolutionise how medications are managed. This will have a huge impact on clinical outcomes and quality of life for both patients and clinicians. They are still a small team, so whoever comes on board will have the opportunity to play a defining role in the company's direction and culture.
    About you:You must be an experienced and proactive Ruby on Rails Developer, ideally with experience of working in a start-up or a software development agency. Experience of AWS is also required. Alternatively, those with experience in other scripting languages will be considered, so long as you are happy to move towards working in Ruby on Rails.
    Team fit is really important, so you must be self-motivated, dynamic, ambitious, and excited to join a company in its start-up phase, where you can play a key part in building the tech stack, culture, and ultimately a successful business.
    To be successful in this role, you will need to be:
    • An experienced web developer for a start-up company or software development agency.
    • Deeply knowledgeable in Ruby, Rails, JSON, AWS, libraries, frameworks, and similar tech stacks.
    • A detail-oriented person, especially in identifying and fixing errors.
    • A proactive and confident communicator.
    • A collaborative team player.
    • Comfortable gathering and analysing information for timely decision-making and problem-solving to create the best products.
    • Adaptable to a fast-paced and changing environment.
    • An ideas person with a hands-on approach.
    • A naturally curious and driven person.

    About the role:
    • Design and deploy high-performance web applications using Ruby on Rails.
    • Write clean, efficient, and reusable code.
    • Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
    • Integrate with server-side APIs and third-party services on AWS.
    • Perform diagnostic tests, fix bugs, and provide technical support to clients.
    • Document software development processes and prepare project reports.
    • Provide suggestions for improvement and apply them to daily tasks and processes.
