    Description

    SEN and Complex Needs Teacher- Leeds

    An SEN school in Leeds is looking for an experienced Early years/KS1 SEN Teacher for a long-term maternity cover from June 2024 to December 2024.

    Specialist SEN Teacher (Key Stage Leeds, West Yorkshire

    • £160 - £210 per day (Depending on PayScale/Experience)
    • Full time position.
    • Knowledge of Early Years Foundation Curriculum is essential, and experience working with non/pre-verbal children (use of Makaton, BSL and PECS) is desirable
    Teacher Information:

    You will be working with children across Early Years to KS1 who have varying special needs, including Autism, Complex Physical and Medical Needs, along with challenging behaviours. Ideally you will be adaptable and will be able to plan, prepare and deliver engaging and creative lessons for pupils. The classes will be made up of small groups of 6 - 8 children, your timetable will be split around varying groups of pupils.

    You will be working in a highly inspired environment teaching the pupils key life skills. This is an area where a lot of the pupils eagerly engage and can express their creative side. As the teacher it is vital to focus the pupils' attention on the task at hand but also allow the pupils to use their imagination as much as possible.

    The students are supported by experienced LSAs (Learning Support Assistants) which will work alongside you so that you feel supported within the classroom and can also ensure that all pupils are developing well. The senior leadership team are also very supportive, providing many teaching resources to help assist with creative and visual learning.

    This Special Education Needs School is a Complex Needs setting supporting children from years old, with varying complex physical, medical and learning needs.
