    Interim Director of Communications and Public Affairs

    9 months Fixed Term (maternity cover)

    The communications and public affairs function covers press, public affairs, marketing and Chamber membership engagement.

    Working in partnership with the policy and insights unit, the team ensures the BCC is leading the discussion, finding solutions and promoting key business and economy related policy issues to help UK PLC grow.

    The team also work closely with the membership team to develop and deliver impactful campaigns by building toolkits for UK and International members to use across their networks.

    As we near a General Election, the BCC is developing policies for the future of the economy focusing on 5 key areas: Green Innovation, People and Work, Local Economy of the Future, Global Britain and Digital Revolution. The recommendations will form the BCC's business manifesto for all political parties.

    Over the next year, the BCC's manifesto will be central to discussions around the future of the economy and this role must ensure political impartiality at all times.

    As a Business Representative Organisation (BRO) the BCC has a responsibility to respond to a fast moving news agenda, keep political stakeholders informed on our insights and policy proposals, and put the voice of business at the centre of all engagement activities.
