- Work with the Senior Management Team at HME Customer Division and Branch to create medium-term (3yr) and short-term (1yr) Business Plans which will support the wider HME strategic direction and meet Customer Divisions key goals of improving Customer Experience and Financial Performance.
- Measure the performance against the Business Plan and produce Plan-Do-Check-Action (PDCA) performance reports for inclusion in the Monthly Operational Report (MOR) / Extended MOR / Honda European Communication & Consultation Group reporting function and for other ad-hoc reporting events and information sharing requirements.
- Centralise the Business reporting function to provide accurate and timely information to operational managers across the region.
- Lead the process for coordinating the production of the Customer Divisional budget, following the HM/HME budgeting direction and processes that will support the delivery of the Customer Division Business Plans. This will require working closely with cost centre managers at HME, at Branches and managers in other functions (e.g. Finance).
- Working with Finance, review the monthly financial reports against budget, monitoring deviation from budget, and providing analysis to support opportunities to drive efficiencies.
- Support the communication of divisional direction through communications and presentations to HME and Branch Teams.
- Organise HME and Branch meetings (Regional Conference and similar) including coordinating the content and organising all logistics to support.
- Strong understanding of budgeting processes, and ability to provide narrative to support financial direction and performance.
- Ability to plan strategically, whilst demonstrating close attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

- Strong communication skills including the ability to convey complex information in a clear and understandable way.
- Excellent MS Office skills (especially PowerPoint and Excel).

- Capable of leading a team to ensure delivery of all objectives and responsibilities.
- European travel is an essential part of this role, as well as representing Customer Division in HME internal meetings.

- Experience of collaborating with others in diverse geographical locations.

At Honda we embrace inclusion in our various policies, so whilst our contracts state that the hours are as required to fulfil the role with a minimum of 35 hours per week, we offer flexibility for when you work. The regular office hours are 08:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday with a half hour lunch break & 08:00 – 13:00 on a Friday. However, we offer flexibility of when you work with our daily flex-time start of between 07:00 and 11:00 providing that there is no business requirement.
Whilst there is no contractual right to work from home, the flexibility we offer is that you can request to work from home for a maximum of 50% of the working days in any one month, again providing there is no business requirement to attend the office.
Role:
The Business Planning Department Manager will play a central role in ensuring Customer Division meet key business and financial objectives by leading the Business Planning, Budgeting and Reporting function, as well as delivering key regional business events and communications. Reporting to the Head of Network Operations, this role will be responsible for managing the divisional business planning function across the region, including the development and collation of Business Plans and the measurement and performance reporting of them.
In addition, the coordination and delivery of the divisional budget through the Honda Motor Europe (HME) budget events process and the regular monitoring and analysis of financial performance against plan as well as the coordination and production of branch communication events – e.g. Regional Conference meetings.
The successful candidate will lead a team of 4 and will need to develop and maintain strong working relations and influence with other HME and Branch management to support the effective delivery of the above functions.
European travel is required for this role.
