    School Business Manager | Hammersmith

    A reputable secondary school in Hammersmith is in search of a School Business Manager to enhance their institution. The chosen individual for the role of School Business Manager, will take charge of leading the Finance and HR teams while collaborating closely with the Operations manager, who oversees IT and Premises.

    Being rated Outstanding by Ofsted, the school demonstrates its steadfast commitment to upholding the highest academic standards.

    The preferred candidate for the role of School Business Manager, should possess managerial experience in an educational setting and demonstrate a strong commitment to the school's growth and development. Experience in managing and preparing 3-year budgets is also desirable.

    School Business Manager summary:
    • School Business Manager salary is £40,000+.
    • Act as the school's leading support staff professional and work as part of the Senior Leadership Team to assist the Headteacher in their duty to ensure that the school meets its educational aims.
    • To take responsibility for providing professional leadership and management of school support staff in partnership with teaching staff, to enhance their effectiveness in order to achieve improved standards of learning and achievement in the school, through support to the Headteacher and colleagues.
    • To promotes the highest standards of business ethos within the administrative function of the school and strategically ensures the most effective use of resources in support of the school's learning objectives.
    • To be responsible for the management of Financial Resources, Administration, Human Resources, Reception, Health & Safety, ICT network.
    • Contract Management of the PFI (Private Finance Initiative) contractual relationship, representing the school through the partnership with Kier Facilities Services, Investors in the Community (Special Purposes Vehicle) and London Borough of Bexley.
    School Business Manager requirements:
    • Degree level qualification & School Business Manager qualification/Accountancy qualification.
    • Experience in financial management and reporting including budget and management accounts preparation.
    • Strong understanding of effective accounting systems and controls.
    • Able to influence decision making within the school.
    • Willingness to be flexible around working hours to meet the needs of the school.
    • Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people.
    • Able to deliver value for money initiatives.
