    Overview

    PepsiCo R&D is looking for R&D Engineer to join in Leicester.

    Job Purpose

    Reporting to Europe Foods R&D Technical Stewardship Lead R&D, R&D Engineer will be part of Technical Brand Stewardship (TBS) team and work effectively with cross-functional & R&D partners to deliver the technical R&D aspects of multiple TBS projects in Europe Food organisation for all technologies through leveraging technical knowledge, applying business processes & creating risk based fast solutions.

    In this role you would focus on ensuring protecting licence to operate, maintaining supply & ensuring technical data is accurate & used effectively.

    Lead TBS projects (business continuity, Nutritional Data base, alternative suppliers, ingredients quality..) with close partnership with Global Functions, Technology Teams, Food Safety, Regulatory Affairs and Supply Chain and other key stakeholders to ensure business continuity and protecting licence to operate.

    Responsibilities
  • Manage development of multiple projects across TBS area to actively support Europe Foods to protect licence to operate, maintain supply & ensure technical data is accurate & used effectively
  • Effective in risk based approach and decision making to act quickly to ensure business continuity projects implemented on time to prevent business supply risks
  • Lead projects independently with minimal input from TBS Lead and escalating issues as required to a range of partners of differing seniority
  • Leverage a combination of functional and business expertise to fix business continuity and supply issues, quality problems that drive sustainable business growth and working effectively to collaborate with cross functional partners
  • Contribute / lead to workstreams to improve ways of working across the team improvement of business processes to drive greater efficiencies, sharing of knowledge to create better team cohesion & developing others through embedding best practise
  • Apply Technical & Business Governance processes effectively from feasibility stage right through to scale-up & post launch support needed for TBS projects
  • Lead complex pellet in house and co-man supply projects.
    • Qualifications
  • Graduate in Food Engineering discipline or equivalent
  • Leadership skills through management of projects from initial step through to launch
  • Co-ordination of 3rd party manufacturers & suppliers, stakeholders
  • Experience of working across different markets and/or in a global matrixed organisation
  • Prioritisation skills – ability to manage and differentiate between multiple fluid competing & fast emerging priorities
  • In-depth analytical skills to interpret complex data and distil into meaningful information interpreting process data, experimental design and statistical inference
  • Good understanding/appreciation of the broader business environment and application of technical and commercial knowledge during project execution
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to influence with integrity through persuasive communication to win support at more senior levels within R&D and Supply Chain and to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders from different levels, backgrounds and cultures.
