    Organisation Overview

    NBCFM is an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of National Bank of Canada ("NBC"). The main strategic purpose of NBCFM is to enable the NBC Group ("NBC Group," meaning National Bank of Canada and all its subsidiaries) to grow and diversify its presence in Europe while allowing for a natural development of its existing business relationships and the establishment of new ones in the European markets.

    NBC has over 150 years of history and is currently the 6th largest Canadian bank. Through its branch and subsidiary network, NBC can service clients throughout North America and Europe. NBC's strategy is to further develop NBCFM as its hub for trading and financial services in Europe.

    Role Overview:

    National Bank of Canada / National Bank Financial Inc. London Branch is seeking a highly skilled Governance and Compliance Specialist to join the London Compliance team. The role will be extremely broad, managing regulatory projects, regulatory change and horizon watching.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Enhancing the current compliance programme by developing and implementing effective compliance policies and procedures.
    • Conducting regular audits and assessments to identify and mitigate compliance risks.
    • Keeping abreast of industry regulations and updates, providing guidance to internal stakeholders.
    • Investigating and addressing compliance concerns, escalating issues as necessary.
    • Creating and delivering training programmes to promote a culture of compliance within the organization.
    • Managing new and on-going regulatory projects.

    Desired Candidate:

    • A dedicated professional with a passion for ensuring organizational integrity through effective compliance governance.
    • Minimum of 3 years' experience in financial markets compliance.
    • Must have excellent communication skills and interpersonal abilities.
    • In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards in the UK and EU.
    • Proven experience in compliance, governance, or a similar role.
