    Permanent, full time (37.5 hours per week)

    This is a great job opportunity for a Housing Manager to join Home Groups awesome housing team in Dumfries. As our Housing Manager you'll be the face to face customer support to our communities. This is the perfect job for you if you like variety and delivering excellent services to our customers and communities.

    Typical day as a Housing Manager

    • Through visibility, engagement with customers and proactivity on our estates, you'll really get to get to know our communities.
    • You'll look after a number of patches and neighbourhoods (ably supported by our Community Housing Assistants).
    • Through v isibility, engagement with customers and proactivity on our estates, you'll really get to get to know our communities. This will help us to improve our local neighbourhoods.
    • Proactively managing anti-social behaviours in our estates, responding to customer queries and complaints.
    • Managing our voids process including liaising with local authorities.
    • Carry out estate inspections, engaging and meeting with contractors on site, as well as carrying out and recording the routine safety and compliance checks in our buildings and communities.

    About You

    • Have worked in housing before and understand housing management, housing law and in an ideal world, universal credit too
    • Super organised and methodical in your approach, you're also a proactive self-starter with a "can do" positive attitude
    • Passionate about delivering excellent customer service and have a genuine desire to help your customers.
    • This job can challenge, especially when we're dealing with complaints but your resilience will help you through.
    • Confident working with external partners and stakeholders such as local authorities, MP's etc
    • Like being part of a team but appreciate that this is a role where you'll spend most of your time working in our local estates.

    Our team

    You'll join Veronica and our Glasgow and Dumfries team, we're super passionate about what we do We're really proud of adding 150 New Build properties to our Glasgow stock over the last few months and more recently were successful in getting a Scottish Government Grant for the refurbishing of 20 empty properties in the Kelloholm and Sanquhar areas of Dumfries to house some of our Ukrainian community who have settled in the Dumfries area. We're a supportive bunch and like to meet up on a Monday for a weekly catch in Glasgow if you are in the area or want to come up and work alongside your colleagues in Glasgow or a monthly meeting in Glasgow with some of those out for lunch (and much laughter) throughout the year.

    Job details

    • This is a home-based or hybrid role and in an average week, you'll spend most days working from our community patches in the Dumfries area.
    • Although you'll spend time in our neighbourhoods, we do get together regularly, we spend our days between the office (in Glasgow) where the team meet up and home catching up on admin.
    • We mainly work Monday to Friday and work occasional evenings to meet with customers. The great news is that you'll be able to shape your own diary.
    • To get from A to B, you'll need a vehicle insured for business purposes. The great news is that we'll pay your mileage
    • You'll need a Standard DBS check done and we pay for that.
