    Description


    On behalf of our client, we are hiring for a Head of ITThe roleYou will be responsible for the day-to-day running of many disparate networks and platforms, across a group of businesses.

    These include but are not limited to Microsoft-based Systems, Cloud-based Platforms, Virtualised Infrastructure, Inter-Business / Office Networks, Remote Networks (including employees and clients' home offices), Secure Remote Access Technologies and Virtual Private Networks.

    A sound knowledge of Microsoft and Mac based systems / architectures is essential, along with a drive towards security and efficiency.

    As part of a multi-application business with multiple locations, we have many connected but independent networks and systems. You will be responsible the distribution, maintenance, and upkeep of these, alongside the security and applications thereof.

    This is a great opportunity to be in a very hands-on role, as part of a small and friendly team.

    We are seeking someone who is commercially minded, has strong technical expertise, and enjoys solving problems.

    This role will be based in our central London offices, with travel around the south of UK to our other sites.

    Key skills & experienceYou will need to have an understanding of cloud technologies and the services provided by the major players in cloud offerings, especially in Storage (e.g. S3) and backup (e.g. Glacier) with role and user management.

    You will also need to understand the fundamentals of web hosting and Content Management Systems (such as cPanel, WHM, WordPress, etc.).Responsible for building up a team of support and infrastructure engineers and the day-to-day management, you will have excellent leadership skills and the ability to communicate in non-technical terms with key stakeholders.


    Deep knowledge in the following is essential:

    Microsoft Systems at Enterprise and Workstation LevelsVirtualisation Technologies, especially VMwareNetwork infrastructure at LAN, WAN and Multi-Site Internet / Intranet levels.

    Security of Connected Services, Cloud Based Services and Remote ServicesCybersecurity prevention methodologies at desktop, server and mobile levelAecure and efficient management of users; remote and on-siteSetup, Maintenance and Distribution of secured Wireless and Wired technologiesManagement of AWS and other Cloud Services for Users and Services The ideal candidate will:Have worked in a fast-paced SME or start-up environments, adapting to the business needsBe a team player who is organised, focused, and able to meet tight deadlinesHold a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a tech-related fieldHold qualifications such as MCSE (BI, Data Management, Mobility and Productivity), CCNA, and/or CCNPHave prior experience in Unix Based Architectures, scripts, deployment, and maintenanceUnderstand the software development lifecycle from conception to distributionUnderstand the role of DevOps and Infrastructure as CodeThe following qualifications would hold an extra advantage:Azure Certifications, AWS Solutions, AWS Cloud PractitionerEnterprise Level Linux Certifications CompTIA Security+, CEH, ECSA
