They have a global supply chain and export over 30% of their product to a world-wide network of customers. The operation consists of a fabrication facility, assembly area, large yard, logistics area and finished goods stores with the majority of product designed and manufactured by the company at their UK site.

Due to expansion, they are looking for a Junior Electrical Design Engineer. The engineering design department are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic person, who is looking for a permanent role in a busy engineering design environment.

Full training and support will be provided in this role.

Junior Electrical Design Engineer Salary and Benefits

• 37.5 hours per week
• Half day on Friday's

Candidate Requirements

• Candidates must have some previous work experience, and have permanent right to work in the UK
• Electrical Engineering / Electronic Engineering experience would be a huge advantage
• Ideally, you will hold a HNC / HND, but this isn't essential
• 18th Edition – training can be given if required
• C&G 2391, Inspection & Testing would be an advantage, but isn't essential

Junior Electrical Design Engineer Key Responsibilities

(full training will be given where required)

• The Junior Electrical Design Engineer will prepare electrical specifications, materials lists, wiring diagrams and data sheets to the regulations and standards appropriate to the site conditions, location and equipment.
• Provide technical assistance in the preparation of procedures, quotations, tenders and installation work involving electrical equipment.
• Ensure drawings of electrical installations and equipment are prepared and updated as necessary to the appropriate standards.
• Overseeing of projects through to commissioning – within budget and required timescales.
• Liaise with customers, visit sites to discuss and agree specifications and performance requirements. Visits to site may entail fault diagnosis, recommending and implementing corrective measures.
• Design electrical control panels and boards for production in house.
• Create Bills of Material for electrical work

Mechanical Design Engineer Candidate Requiremen ts

Engineering & Design Lead Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)

Technical

• Provide technical direction to the team, producing sound engineering solutions to engineering problems, backed up with design analysis where appropriate.

Mechanical Development Engineer Key Responsibilities

• The Mechanical Development Engineer will lead development projects from initial concept through to full product realisation / implementation.
• Assess and implement design change requests related to the full range of products.
• Preparation, maintenance and revision control of 3D CAD models, drawings and BOM's using SolidWorks CAD and PLM software.
• Provide assistance to other departments and suppliers to help solve technical problems during manufacture and assembly.
• Oversee validation testing required during the design change process and summarise results in a technical report. Wide ranging support to the R&D department in the research, testing and development of products.
• Work closely with and support other departments (Production, Production Engineering, Purchasing, Quality) and suppliers to improve existing designs with respect to manufacturability and assembly.
• Conduct calculations to validate the structural integrity of components and assemblies using a formula based approached for simple calculations.
