    Description


    Job purposeYou will guide the continuous development of Vitsœ's technology in a collaborative, effective and Agile manner leading a multidisciplinary technology team.

    High-quality software will be delivered using best-of-breed frameworks, such as Laravel, and components to support the requirements of a growing business.

    Key areas of responsibilitycollaborating openly and autonomously within a non-siloed, organic business structureleading, coaching and growing a technology team of developers, UI and UX designers to deliver effective software within an Agile environmentworking with product owners and project managers to establish formal requirements, produce technical specifications and deliver software to an agreed planidentifying appropriate software architecture, approaches, frameworks and components to implement the business requirementssafe-guarding the stability, effectiveness and continuity of software developmentmaintaining and managing technical debt, security and compliance of in-house softwareoverseeing Vitsœ's hardware resources, in collaboration with the IT support partnerThe role requiresexperience of implementing software systems which leverage third-party APIsexpertise in the traditional PHP stack (PHP/mySQL/HTML/CSS/JavaScript) in modern frameworks such as Laravel or Symphonyimplementing and working within service-oriented architectures and associated principles and standards, eg SOLIDgood understanding of test approaches (eg unit versus integration)a pragmatist who can achieve a balance between the creative approach of a developer and the needs of the businessThe person will becareful, organised and diligent – even meticulous – with a good dose of common sensedemanding of high standards, and at ease with demanding peopleeffective – but also efficient – in both the physical and digital realmsmodestly confident, good-humoured and trustworthyat home in the worlds of art, architecture, craft and designinformal but 100% professional, while respecting traditional courtesy and good mannersHow to applyProvide a covering letter to explain how your life experience led you to Vitsœ's door.
