Part-Time Learning Support Assistant - Special Needs Unit Location: Tooting

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special needs, particularly those with autism? Reeson Education is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Learning Support Assistant to join a special needs unit attached to a mainstream school in Tooting.

This rewarding role offers the opportunity to provide essential support and guidance to students with diverse needs, contributing to their academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

Individualized Support:

Provide one-on-one and small group support to students within the special needs unit, catering to their specific learning needs and abilities.

Autism Support:

Utilize your experience and understanding of autism to implement effective strategies and interventions to support students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Assisting Classroom Activities:

Assist teachers in delivering lessons and activities, ensuring students with special needs are included and supported in classroom settings.

Behaviour Management:

Implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour and engagement among students, fostering a safe and conducive learning environment.

Collaborative Approach:
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) and provide holistic support to students

Requirements:

Experience with Autism:

Demonstrate previous experience working with children or young adults with autism, possessing a deep understanding of their needs and characteristics.

Relevant Qualifications:

Hold relevant qualifications or certifications in special needs education or related fields, demonstrating your commitment to supporting students with diverse needs.

Team Player:
Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Patience and Empathy:
Show patience, empathy, and understanding in working with students with special needs, adapting your approach to meet their individual needs
