QSHE Co-Ordinator Brierley Hill £35,000 - £40,000 Full Time – PermanentThe role:
The overall objective of this role is to create and embed a strong health and safety culture with quality focus on site.
Communicate and co-ordinate health and safety policies and procedures with the support of our Consultancy support and utilise them to their fullest capacity to implement, maintain and communicate our quality, health and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement, analyse and improve H&S KPI's, updating the management team on a monthly basis.
Implement and embed SWP and RA for all processes across site, review on annual basis.
Liaise with our external H&S expert (Croner) to adopt and embed strong safety culture and encourage and communicate this across site.
Implement working practices for monitoring, correcting and improving safety concerns, near misses, accidents and ensure any corrective action requests (CAR) are closed out in a measured, accountable and timely manner.
Train the operators and supervisors, in the safety procedures and ensure they are followed, by continuous monitoring, with the aim to reduce compliance concerns as a whole.
Work with the HR Department to ensure all safety precautions are outlined within the induction and that these are carried out for all staff to required standard.
Implement and embed visitor safety induction and ensure compliance, inclusive of contractors.Create and maintain a legal compliance register for all QHSE aspects.
Continuously review working processes to ensure safety compliance and reduce safety risks.
Communicate any necessary safety information across site and produce monthly compliance and KPI reports for Management meeting.
Communicate and embed safety requirements, the importance of these and the consequence of non-compliance in line with company procedures, escalate where necessary and coach team leaders and managers on good practice for ensuring safety compliance.
Person SpecificationExperience of root cause analysis using ISHIKAWA (Cause and Effect) Diagrams and 5 Whys (Five Whys) techniques and any relevant experience within this area
Must be self-motivated, flexible with an ability to thrive in a changing manufacturing environment.
A HNC or equivalent in Health and Safety disciplines or 5 years + in Health and Safety compliance, preferably IOSH Manging Safely supported.
