    Employer School Coordinator - United Kingdom - Teach In Scotland

    Hosted by RGU, Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) North East is one of 20 Scottish Government funded Regional Groups in Scotland helping employers to connect to young people in education. We work with employers, schools and partners within the youth employability landscape to enhance insights and provide inspiration and experience for young people in education to prepare them for the next step in their journey beyond school. DYW Regional Groups play a key role in the delivery of the Young Person's Guarantee (YPG) which aims to connect every 16-24 year old in Scotland to an opportunity. This opportunity could include a job, apprenticeship, further or higher education, training, volunteering or an enterprise opportunity.

    At DYW NE, we serve the full region across Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire and so we welcome applicants who are based across the region. We have 3 Full Time, Term Time Employer Scho ol Coordinator opportunities available. These will be based remotely with travel across the region, particularly in the north and central area of the region.

    Working as a part of a small team, you will be expected to account and relationship manage a portfolio of employers who have pledged to the Young Person Guarantee (YPG). You will also be expected to build relationships and work with employers who would like to support and engage with young people but have not pledged to the YPG. You will work closely with your colleagues to ensure the delivery of employer engagement across the regional secondary schools. You will need to have excellent relationship management skills and be a great communicator in order to build strong and lasting relationships with employers who can deliver meaningful interactions to schools and young people and ensure regional sectors are represented. You need to have excellent planning and organisation skills, along with being creative and finding solutions with the ability to think outside the box.You will also need to proactively collaborate with key partners and colleagues to support the school's strategic plan. You will be expected to promote the Young Person's Guarantee and support employers to pledge their support.

    PURPOSE OF POST: To deliver on Scottish Government's DYW Regional Group KPIs, which are issued annually. Working as part of a team, you will provide support to secondary schools to complement their DYW Agenda by engaging employers to deliver activities defined by the schools you support.

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

    Y oung Person's Guarantee – promote the Young Person's Guarantee and support employers to pledge their support and deliver on their commitments.

    Employers – build strong and lasting relationships with employers who can deliver meaningful interactions to schools. Ensure regional sectors are represented by developing partnerships with employers locally and in our region.

    Create Employer Plans – Create a plan with employers to deliver on supporting young people. These plans could align with schools DYW Strategy Plans.

    Partnership and Networks – Attend networking opportunities raise awareness of DYW North East and expand our network of employers / partners to support our wok

    Work Experience and Foundation Apprenticeships – refer employers who can offer placement opportunities to the local authority teams.

    Apprenticeships – Provide employers with knowledge of the apprenticeship family, how they can offer apprenticeship opportunities and refer to appropriate partners for further action.

    School – Support colleagues with arranging employer engagement requested by schools to deliver on their DYW Strategy Plans. Provide additional support to colleagues to deliver on employer engagement activities in schools as and when required.

    Person Specification

    The right candidate will:

    Have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including delivery to a variety of audiences.

    Be driven, enthusiastic and a motivated team player.

    Be passionate about inspiring the next generation.

    Demonstrate ability to create long term, sustainable employer partnerships.

    Have excellent MS Office skills and experience of CRM systems.

    Hold a UK driving license and have access to a vehicle to tr avel around the region.

    EXPERIENCE:

    Have experience in a customer facing role, managing and facilitating relationships.

    Be experienced in managing and prioritising their own workload.
