    Description

    Job Description:

    Our client, one of Europe's largest bakery groups, is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead their engineering function at their manufacturing facility in Bedford.

    Reporting to the General Manager, the Engineering Manager will take full accountability for the engineering and maintenance function of the site.


    Responsibilities include:
    # Liaising with other departments, functions, and senior management for organization and planning of works.
    # Driving a proactive maintenance strategy and continuous improvement activities.
    # Managing compliance (legal and customer) in line with best practices.
    # Leading team management and development.
    # Managing CMMS and stores systems, including developing KPIs.
    # Conducting annual appraisal reviews with direct reports and benchmarking departmental scores.
    # Assisting in and delivering full capital projects implementations.
    # Participating in Continuous Improvement and Lean manufacturing initiatives.
    # Ensuring operations meet all legal requirements regarding health & safety, environmental, and employment law.

    The ideal candidate will have:
    Demonstrable track record of managing compliance
    Proven team management and development experience
    Management of CMMS and stores systems, including developing KPIs
    Experience in expenditure analysis and reporting
    Proven knowledge of scoping, planning, and implementing projects
    LEAN/CI Experience (6th Sigma Preferred)
    Excellent communication skills

    Education:
    HND in Engineering (Degree preferable)
    Experience in food manufacturing preferred
    Proven track record of building and managing budgets
    Excellent computer skills (MS Office etc)
    Knowledge of CMMS setup (Implementation experience preferred)
    Safety qualifications (IOSH/NEBOSH preferred)
    L8 Qualified DSEAR/NH3 Knowledge
