    Description
    Resident Matron Middle School

    This role is ideal for someone looking to work with engaging young people across our ten boarding Houses supporting the pastoral and operational needs of our busy boarding life.

    There will be times when you will be required to be resident in a boarding house or on site as part of the duty rota.

    Our aim is that every pupil will leave at the end of the Sixth Form full of compassion and confidence to fulfil her ambition, embrace challenge and make a difference.

    You will work particularly closely with the resident Housemistress and their Deputy in looking after the pupils, nurturing, and guiding them on a daily basis.

    Benenden offers its own competitive pay structure, responsibility allowances and benefits. Staff are provided with meals whilst on duty, catering for all tastes and dietary requirements.

    The School's leisure facilities, including wonderful grounds, a fitness gym and swimming pool are also available for staff to use.

    Benenden is one of the leading day and boarding schools in Britain. There are 550 girls in the school, aged 11-18, with 190 of those in the Sixth Form.

    Benenden is at the forefront of girls' education in the UK, with recent innovations including the Benenden Diploma, a bespoke curriculum for our youngest two year groups, and the Professional Skills Programme, teaching the Sixth Form skills for the workplace.

    We are an ambitious school, with recent developments including a state-of-the-art Science Centre and All-Weather Sports Pitch, and the newly established Centenary Hall and Sir David K.Li Music School.

    The post-holder will be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children with whom they come into contact.

    They must ensure compliance with the School's Child Protection Policy Statement at all times, this appointment will be subject to enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service checks.

    Whilst Benenden isn't accredited to the Living Wage Foundation, we do look to the Living Wage for guidance and our starting pay is currently in line with this.
