    Description

    We are taking established science and building on it by pioneering the use of spherical tokamaks in conjunction with high temperature superconductors (HTS).

    Fusion – the energy source that powers the sun – is globally accepted as the best way to generate plentiful, safe, secure and clean energy.

    The tokamak is the most heavily researched and best understood of all the different paths to fusion.
    It is now acknowledged that the spherical tokamak design offers the smallest and most cost-effective solution. Yet there are many complex engineering challenges that need to be overcome for demonstration and commercialisation of this technology.

    Our unique approach is centred on rapid innovation using the latest materials and technology – but building on decades of scientific research and experience.

    This role is responsible for a major Tokamak Energy technology development programme delivery to quality, time and budget targets. The role is to lead and deliver some of the Technology Development projects.

    Generate deliverables-based, integrated plans (timing and resource) to set timelines for the successful delivery of project objectives to quality, time and cost targets.

    With the technical leader, proactively lead the project team to successfully deliver project objectives and deliverables against the business strategy in an agile manner
    Seek out and promote the smarter and most efficient ways of delivering the project against the business milestone
    Support the chief engineers and proactively seek out solution to address key issues and risks
    Manage contractors and consultants delivery against project schedule and business milestones

    Actively work within the PMO to share best practice, develop the project management framework and support the PM strategy.


    Experience in delivering complex technology projects or manufacturing projects
    Experience in managing multiple projects utilising the same resources in relation to timing, cost and priority limitations
    Experienced user of Microsoft Project and/or Agile programme management tools
    Ability to quickly adapt and manage short term ambiguity and urgency versus long time delivery

    ~25 days holiday (plus bank holidays)
