    Job Title: Cloud Engineer at the Incubator for Artificial Intelligence

    About the Company: The Incubator for Artificial Intelligence (IAI) is a program dedicated to utilizing AI to enhance public welfare by implementing innovative projects across various public services.

    Job Description: We are looking for a skilled Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic AI team. As part of this team, you will collaborate with AI experts and researchers to design and implement the infrastructure supporting our cutting-edge AI solutions.

    Role and Responsibilities:

    • Develop and create advanced cloud architecture to facilitate the rapid development of prototypes and their scalable implementation throughout the government.
    • Assist in enhancing our AI capabilities and constructing a modern, adaptable architecture for diverse projects.
    • Cooperate with existing technical solutions in the civil service to integrate seamlessly into current architectures.
    • Establish secure and reliable infrastructure capable of meeting security standards for handling sensitive data.
    • Work flexibly with team members to fulfill our mission of utilizing AI for public good, even if it means going beyond your direct responsibilities.
    • Support team performance through diversity promotion, inclusive feedback, and continuous improvement.

    Person Specification:

    Essential Experience:

    • Extensive knowledge of Cloud Architecture
    • Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)
    • Solid experience with AWS
    • Thorough understanding of Cloud Architecture best practices
    • Capability to configure and design CI/CD pipelines

    Desirable Experience:

    • Familiarity with containerization
    • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash and Python
    • Experience with orchestration tools like Airflow and Dagster
    • Knowledge of the infrastructure needed to train and operate Large Language Models

    Benefits:

    On top of a salary of �64,700, the Cabinet Office contributes �17,469 towards your Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme, provides tailored learning and development, offers flexible work arrangements, fosters inclusion and diversity, and features an attractive pension scheme with benefits for dependents and employer contributions averaging 27%. Additional benefits include a minimum of 25 days of annual paid leave, increasing annually up to a maximum of 30 days.
