    Child Development Officer - United Kingdom - Dundee Partnership

    The Development Officer will be a key point of contact with partner organisations for partnership activity relating to the Discover Work Strategy & detailed Action Plan.

    Initially, the Development Officer will focus on employability related aspects of Tackling Child Poverty Delivery Plan for :
    Best Start, Bright Futures (BSBF) delivered through the Dundee Partnership's Fairness & Child Poverty Action Plan.

    Employability is a key pillar of the plan and builds on current approach through No One Left Behind to help ensure that work offers an effective and sustainable route out of poverty for families.

    This role will support engagement in the wider Child Poverty agenda from the perspective Discover Work and is therefore entirely additional to pre-existing Child Poverty Lead roles.

    The postholder will support services to deliver on the policy intent of No One Left Behind and Best Start, Bright Futures, by driving actions for the integration and alignment of services at a local level including LEP organisations, employability providers, and wrap-around services (e.g. childcare, housing and transport) that support parents' transition towards and progression in work.

    Working in a hybrid style, based at home and Dundee House, you will work full time, 37 hours per week, on a temporary basis until March 2026.You will play an effective role within the Employability Partnership's Strategy, Governance and Funding Unit, including the development of key strategies and revenue projects that support City and Council Plan priorities; co-ordinating the development of business cases and service plans; supporting project implementation; supporting the delivery of projects and ensuring that employability functions are managed and delivered effectively across the Council and wider partnership in line with funder requirements.

    You will have knowledge of relevant strategies, legislation, policies and/or programmes.

    Experience of programme/project/service development and/or management is essential, along with experience of working with colleagues across partnership boundaries, including planning and employability partner organisations and experience of working in a co-ordination and/or policy development role within a community learning, training, social or employability setting.

    You will have excellent communication skills, both oral and written, along with organizational leadership skills and excellent IT skills, including the use of Office 365.You will have the ability to work out with office times and travel within the UK and occasionally overseas for conferences and meetings.
