    The role

    As a Resource Manager at UP3, you will play a vital role in optimising the allocation and utilisation of the company's most valuable resources – its human talent. You will be responsible for ensuring that our professionals are allocated efficiently to support project delivery, client satisfaction, and overall company success. This role requires a keen understanding of resource management in a professional services context, excellent communication, and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams.

    Key responsibilities

    • Resource Allocation: Collaborate with project managers, department heads, and client teams to understand project requirements, timelines, and resource needs. Allocate professionals to projects based on their skills, availability, and client demands. Continuously monitor resource allocation to maximise project performance and client satisfaction.
    • Capacity Planning: Conduct regular capacity assessments to identify resource shortages and surpluses. Work with department heads and project managers to forecast resource needs and plan for future project demands. Develop strategies to address resource shortages and optimise allocation.
    • Resource Tracking and Reporting: Implement systems and tools to track professional utilisation and availability. Generate reports and dashboards to provide visibility into resource allocation and utilisation. Communicate resource utilisation trends and recommendations to senior management.
    • Conflict Resolution: Mediate conflicts that may arise due to resource allocation issues. Collaborate with stakeholders to find equitable solutions to resource-related disputes.
    • Resource Optimisation: Identify opportunities for resource optimisation and skill development. Implement best practices and process improvements to enhance resource management.
    • Resource Policies and Procedures: Develop and maintain resource management policies and procedures specific to the professional services industry. Ensure compliance with industry standards and client-specific requirements.
    • Talent Development Collaboration: Collaborate with HR to align resource allocation with talent development and growth plans. Foster a culture of talent stewardship and professional development across the organisation.

    Essential skills and experience:

    • Proven experience in resource management in a professional services company.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in resource management software and tools, as well as professional services automation (PSA) platforms.
    • Familiarity with project management methodologies commonly used in the professional services industry.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
    • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
    • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
    • Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and compliance standards.
