Clinical Psychologist/Psychotherapist - London, United Kingdom - Whittington Health NHS Trust

    Default job background
    Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen as a result of Start for Life funding to join the well established and valued Parent Infant Psychology Service in Haringey, known as PIPS.

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic clinical psychologist or parent infant psychotherapist to head up our multidisciplinary Family Hub team, who comprise of experienced colleagues from midwifery and family nurse partnership.

In addition to managing the Family Hub team colleagues, the post will also have clinical sessions to offer parents and babies in the community, and scope to develop therapeutic work.

There is an outreach aspect to this role, and a chance to link with many interesting peer support services and outreach work offered in the borough.

We are also considering where we want to develop parent infant therapy for vulnerable babies who have been born premature /spent time in NICU and SCBU and would benefit from therapeutic input on leaving hospital.

Whittington Health serves a richly diverse population and works hard to ensure that all our services are fair and equally accessible to everyone.

The Trustbelieves that as a public sector organisation we have an obligation to have recruitment, training, promotion and other formal employment policies and procedures that are sensitive to these differences.

We think that by doing so, we are better able to treat our patients as well as being a better place to work.

The main responsibilities are ensuring a well led and supported multidisciplinary team who are offering innovative and evidence based interventions to parents and babies through the Family Hubs.

These include Solihull Antenatal groups, post natal groups for parents and babies, use of VIG with parents and babies and other parent infant support.

There is a training and consultation focus to this post, ensuring that partner agencies feel more confident in assessing and thinking about parents and infant mental health, and helping to triage therapeutic work.

There are opportunities to strengthen our outreach offer and work with partner agencies to develop their therapeutic offer to families in the borough with under 2s.
