    Business Overview

    The Risk & Quantitative Analysis (RQA) group provides independent oversight of BlackRock's fiduciary and enterprise risks. RQA's mission is to advance the firm's risk management practices and deliver independent risk advice and constructive challenge to drive better business and investment outcomes. While fulfilling this mission, RQA provides quantitative analysis and evidence-based insights to many of BlackRock's businesses, helping to promote the spread of best practices across the firm. RQA contributes to building "state-of-the-practice" quantitative models and analytics that help inform risk taking and portfolio construction. RQA team members tackle real-world problems, using quantitative analysis and a multi-disciplinary skillset to provide tangible solutions in the investment management process.

    Key Responsibilities:

    You will join a team of risk managers focusing on Blackrock's successful and growing array of index strategies, spanning segregated mandates, pooled funds and the iShares ETF range. You will partner up with our Index Investment teams in EMEA and APAC to:

    Deliver independent risk oversight and risk advice.

    Provide quantitative analysis to assist with portfolio construction, product design and investor engagement.

    Contribute to long term, strategic projects and enhancements to risk and portfolio management processes.

    Collaborate with a team of world-class risk managers and quants partnering with portfolio management teams to oversee our clients' portfolios.

    Collaborate with subject matter experts in investing, macroeconomics, financial modeling and strategy.

    Qualifications

    · Working experience of a minimum of 3 years within investment or market risk management, quantitative analysis or equivalent role within a financial or investment function.

    · A degree in a quantitative field, e.g. mathematics, quantitative finance, computer science, economics, statistics, engineering

    · An ability to explain complex ideas in simple but impactful terms

    · Familiarity with equity markets and good understanding of other asset classes; fundamental equity models knowledge a plus

    · Strong interest and ideally some experience in Index Investing

    · A passion for applying quantitative techniques to real-world problems including analyzing portfolio risk taking and understanding financial markets

    · The view that risk management is a partnership between investment managers and risk managers

    · A good insight in financial models, and an understanding of their limitations and a desire to improve them

    · System and technology proficiency, and ideally some Python coding and programming skills or willingness to learn them

    · Familiarity with relevant regulatory frameworks including UCITS and AIFMD.
