    We are leading the green industrial revolution by developing the technologies to decarbonise hard-to-abate sectors (like our iron ore operations) while building a global portfolio of renewable energy projects.

    In support of our ambitious strategy, we have established Fortescue Energy Ventures (FEV) as an in-house Corporate Venture Capital (CVC) operation investing in early-stage technology companies to seed and stimulate future renewable hydrogen-based markets and support the decarbonisation of the industrial sector.

    We collaborate closely with our portfolio companies, helping to accelerate them towards successful commercialisation.

    We are now looking for a mainland Europe-based Investment Director or Investment Principal who will be responsible for bringing in-region deal flow to our UK-based FEV team.

    The ideal person will be well networked within the European technology start-up and VC investor ecosystem, finding great companies to introduce to us as potential investment opportunities and connecting us with VCs as potential co-investors.

    Additionally, they will have a track record of successful investments and a deep understanding of the VC landscape, combined with relevant technology commercialisation experience in start-up and corporate environments.

    They will have a strong network of relationships with entrepreneurs, investors and other key stakeholders in the start-up ecosystem.
    Source new investment opportunities by developing and maintaining relationships with founders, investors, and other ecosystem players in the region
    Screen and assess incoming deal flow for investment potential
    Present relevant investment opportunities to the rest of the FEV team and participate in investment opportunity pipeline review meetings
    Using your relationships with founders and co-investors to ensure approved investment opportunities are delivered to completion
    Support deal execution process including negotiation, due diligence and investment agreements
    Monitor and report on portfolio company performance, possibly as investor director or observer
    Conduct market research and analysis to identify industry trends, key players, and potential investments
    Stay abreast of industry trends and news to identify potential investments and support portfolio companies
    Significant experience in the VC technology investment industry
    Proven track record of successful investments
    Extensive network of industry contacts
    Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills
