    The purpose of this role is to lead the sales team within our business.

    You will coach, mentor and train the sales team where appropriate and use fantastic governance to monitor the team performance.

    The role reports directly to the Head of Sales and is responsible for delivering the sales budget through full P&L responsibility.

    You will be the face of Stephenson when it comes to supporting the team on key customer visits.

    On occasion you will deputise for the Head of Sales when they are travelling and act as the internal voice of the customer.

    To ensure that you have the latest market knowledge and insights you will have direct responsibility for several Key Accounts.

    You will work with the Sales Operations Controller to optimise various aspects of the sales function to ensure that there is efficient resource allocation and alignment with the business strategy and goals.

    It is essential that you have strong team management skills with an ability to lead at pace and with emotional intelligence to deliver results and find solutions when things do not go to plan.

    Sales Team Leadership – You will be an inspirational leader promoting success by being results focused and ensuring that we are consistently expanding our product portfolio within our existing account base.

    You will use effective governance processes to ensure performance to achieve and beat the budget, whilst also successfully managing the launch of new products and new application inspiration.

    Team and Function Development – Through a commitment to Succession Planning you will help to identify key talent, poor performers, and potential future leaders.

    You will support individual growth, and look for gaps and areas of personal development for all individuals within your team whilst promoting proactive involvement in continuous improvement.

    Key Account Responsibility – To develop and build relationships with our customers' key stakeholders to ensure a trusted partnership is maintained.

    Customer, Safety and Quality focus
    Strengthen our resale customer channel to ensure alignment of our outlets resulting in maximised market share.

    Grow and further establish commercially positive business relationships with key brand owners, manufacturers and resellers to secure the future of the business.

    A genuine passion for finding solutions to customer challenges, turning these into targeted opportunities and delivering an excellent customer experience whilst exceeding sales and development targets.

    Deliver excellent customer service, resolving issues, and offering solutions in a timely manner to meet and exceed customer expectations, needs and demands to achieve our customer obsessed business strategy.

    Understand and enforce relevant Site Safety Policies & Rules.
    Monitoring and driving sales progress and performance against sales process.

    Solution focused attitude that can take a situation and think fast to formulate and support the delivery of a satisfactory.

    High level negotiations within a consultative sales process, formulating contracts with multiple facets.

    Excellent presentation and communication skills, a positive, dynamic, flexible approach with the agility to quickly adapt and embrace all and new areas of responsibility.

    Lead your team to identify new opportunities and offer creative and proactive ideas to grow sales profitably.

    Create value within customer accounts so that they see Stephenson as an innovation partner and leader within the solid format personal care market.

    Focus effort on continuous improvement, work simplification, and the elimination of non-value-added activities by identifying, supporting and contributing to Yellow Belt continuous improvement projects.

    Building Talent and Teams
    Personal development of the team members to grow personally and professionally further.

    360 degree leadership, support and development of the sales team including joint visits, customer calls and formulate and carry out training plans to create success conditions.

    Motivational management and development skills that encourage empowerment and ownership of roles, with an inclusive approach encouraging views and contributions by the team.

    Be responsible for identifying your own training needs and liaising with relevant stakeholders to close any gaps.
    To create and own the sales budget and monitor/track against this.
    Provide strategic & tactical commercial direction to the business.
    Key account responsibility to ensure first hand experience of the market segments.

    Co-create with the Head of Sales a strategy to secure more visibility for core accounts that achieve the budget, and ad-hoc business to overachieve.

    Be responsible for maintaining professional standards of housekeeping.
    To provide leadership to the sales team to achieve the business budget.

    An inspirational people leader and coach, who demonstrates emotional intelligence to align to their audience in an engaging manner to ensure positive outcomes and cascade enthusiasm and energy, coupled with the ability to deal with challenging people issues.

    The flexibility and commitment to travel internationally.

    Play a key part in the development of the Stephenson brand and cement our value within the customer base.

    You will have over 5+ years in the Personal Care, Beauty or Chemical Manufacturing, and a proven track record as an experienced leader of multiple sales teams as you will be responsible for looking after projects and managing a dynamic team to drive sales in a fast paced environment

    You are driven and motivated by achieving targets in line with KPIs, have Key Account management accountability, whilst having the experience of high level negotiations within a consultative sales process and formulating contracts with multiple facets.

    You have an understanding of basic chemistry, exceptional organisational skills with the desire and passion for finding creative solutions and long term solutions and partnerships between Stephenson and our customers.

    You have the ability to communicate technical information within a commercial setting and to successfully cross this in the relevant style for each department, affirming our position as technical experts within solid format personal care applications.

    You have the ability to prioritise tasks and handle multiple projects simultaneously, with an enthusiasm for continuous improvement.

    You will have great project management skills and understand the different engagement styles needed between presenting to the Leadership Team or working with our production teams...

    so it goes without saying that strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must, and with an analytical mind, you'll be able to digest data and reach conclusions
    You will be based at our Leeds office and production site.
