    Head of Department PE

    Location: The Malling School

    Salary: TLR commensurate with experience (competitive)

    Employment type: Permanent

    Hours per week: Full-time

    Start Date: 1st September 2024

    Position Overview:

    We are now seeking an outstanding individual to join us as the Head of Department for Physical Education (PE).

    Key Responsibilities:

    Curriculum Leadership: Lead and shape the PE curriculum, fostering a dynamic and enriching learning environment. Showcase the four theory courses we offer: GCSE PE, L2 BTEC Sport, IB Sports, Exercise and Health Science, L3 BTEC Sport and Exercise Science.

    Team Leadership: Inspire and manage a team of dedicated PE teachers. Benefit from SLT/Finance support including a well-funded budget, specialist PE cover teachers, and prioritisation of PE fixtures by the school.

    Strategic Vision: Develop and implement a strategic vision for the department, driving continuous improvement.

    Operational Excellence: Ensure the effective day-to-day operation of the PE department. Deliver department CPD sessions focusing on enhancing teaching and learning methodologies.

    Student Engagement: Motivate and inspire students to achieve their full potential in PE.

    Extra-Curricular Leadership: Lead on extra-curricular clubs and activities, collaborating with colleagues to promote participation and excellence in our after-school provision program.

    Cross-Curricular Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to enhance the overall school experience.
