Senior Leadership Administrator - Coventry, United Kingdom - Coventry City

    Default job background
    Full time
    Description
Jobs and careers with Coventry City Council

In line with our One Coventry Values we strive to have a workforce that reflects our local communities and welcome applicants from all sections of the community.

We particularly welcome applicants from minority ethnic backgrounds, applicants who have a disability and applicants who are from the LGBTQ+ community to apply for our senior leadership roles.

We help and encourage everyone to be their best and do their best.
We work together to deliver the best services for our residents.
We put diversity and inclusion at the heart of all we do.

Coventry's 2-25 Integrated SEND Team is committed to working with families and partners to support children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

We are a creative, connected and forward-thinking service.

Together with our families and partners in schools, settings, the NHS and third sector, we have driven change that has pushed us to the cutting edge of SEND.

This includes embedding co-production across all areas of service delivery.

Each and every role within the team is critical as it enables us to offer an excellent and cohesive service to the families and children of Coventry.

When Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) completed a Local Area inspection of Coventry in October 2019, they commended our "genuine passion and commitment to get things right for children and young people with SEND and their families"; our respect for the "lived experiences of children and young people with SEND and their parents" and the "strong partnership between school settings and education service providers, with a high level of buy-back of specialist services".

We are here to deliver the aspirational challenge set to us by young people with SEND and their families: 'To Lift the Cloud of Limitation and enable them to enjoy an ordinary life'.

We value diverse perspectives and experiences and are striving to create a workplace culture that is inclusive, is accepting of all and is free from discrimination and bias.

It is a rewarding, sometimes challenging role as you will be the first point of contact and will need to be able to communicate clearly and transparently with families and young people.

It is also a very rewarding role as you will be part of a team whose focus is on enabling children and young people with special educational needs to achieve the best long-term outcomes possible.

Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders including, colleagues, partnership organisations and children/young people, parents and carers
Good working knowledge and experience of using IT systems including Microsoft Office packages (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)
Experience of data input and data protection awareness
You will need to be highly literate with at least Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths. Able to communicate with a range or stakeholders including families, children, young people, schools, colleges, health and social care.

If you need help or support to complete your application, please visit our accessibility page to see how we can assist you.

Coventry has a proud, innovative and creative spirit that throughout its history has seen communities come together to tackle problems and bring about real social change.

To deliver the best services to our residents, we need the best people working for us to make a difference to our communities.
